Blushware patterns named by Carlton Ware See Part 2 for unnamed Blushware patterns named latterly.
To view Part 2 click or tap here. Below, you can see examples of most of the Blushware patterns that were named by the Pottery by means of a backstamp.
Patterns that were named by the long-standing Carlton Ware naming committee are listed on a separate page. To view it click here.
On the examples shown below, the name of the pattern has been printed with the backstamp, though this was not always the case, so this page should help identification of those patterns not marked with a name.
Please note that each pattern had many variants.
Most Blushware patterns were decorated using various and diverse colour combinations, sometimes making them look quite different, especially when they are printed in flow blue.

DESGRANGES- Rd.No.236722 - 1894
Although, so far, no examples of this pattern have been found with the DESGRANGES name as part of the backstamp, this is how it is named in the representation of the pattern submitted to register the design now held at the Public Record Office at Kew.
The pattern must have been named after a chrysanthemum from the 1890s called Madame Desgranges, possibly now lost to cultivation.
